Restore Your Smile

Senior Smiling
Supported Dentures
Our implant-supported dentures in Frisco, Texas, are the perfect solution for people who need to replace an entire row of teeth but do not want dentures or individual dental implants. Dr. Paresh Patel can craft your dentures out of acrylic and ceramic material depending on your specific needs. We also offer Conus abutments to hold your dentures in place. These abutments offer greater stability and comfort than other varieties and are easy to clean. If you have lost a significant amount of bone tissue in your jaw, our dentist may be able to place a locator overdenture implant which can restore your smile without a bone graft. To start enjoying your smile again, call Family Dentistry of Frisco at (469) 362-3150 and speak with a member of our team.

Dentures

Dentures need a sturdy foundation so that they can function more similarly to natural teeth. Dentures supported with dental implants are a common way to replace multiple teeth. Implant-supported dentures are similar in appearance and form to removable dentures, but they are held in place by dental implants installed in the jawbone. Denture wearers often do not like the way traditional dentures become loose in the mouth because it inhibits their eating and speaking abilities, and there is always the risk they will fall out. Implant-supported dentures allow you to eat and speak normally, and you do not have to worry about them slipping out of your mouth. Often, we can even take existing traditional dentures and retrofit them with implants.
Reading Dental Exam
We will first determine the number of dental implants needed to keep your dentures secure, usually four to six. We will then place the dental implants in your jawbone. The dental implants are made of a biocompatible metal that should react well with your body’s biology as the implants fuse with your jawbone. Successful fusion usually takes a few months. After the dental implants have finished fusing with your jawbone, we will place your fitted denture on top of the implants. The implants should provide your dentures with stability that will allow you to eat and speak comfortably. For many patients, implant-supported dentures feel like their natural teeth!
