  • Please be careful while you are numb. Do not drink hot liquids or alcohol while you are numb. You could be numb up to an hour. When you are numb you do not have pressure and temperature sensation, so we want to make sure that you do not burn your mouth or chew the inside of your cheek and injure yourself.
  • NO FLOSSING for the first 24 hours of the crown. Baby the crown for the first 24 hours. Do not eat hard, sticky or chewy foods for the first 24 hours. Statistics show the first 24 hours after a crown has been seated determines the longevity of the crown. By being careful during this period of time you can avoid needing to redo the crown sooner than necessary.
  • We advise you to take Ibuprofen or another mild pain reliever for 5 days after your crown is placed. The gums can be sore due to the temporary crown and its removal and the seating of the final crown.
  • If after several days you feel like your bite is off or something with your bite doesn’t feel right then please let us know and we would like to adjust the crown while you’re not numb.
