Can I tell you how grateful I am that my dentist, Dr. Paresh Patel and his team offer emergency dental care? I was having some pretty bad tooth pain but still wasn’t sure if it was urgent enough to be seen or if I should just wait it out. I almost felt embarrassed for complaining, but my first clue should have been that I couldn’t ignore the pain. I really wasn’t just making a fuss, turns out, I needed urgent care. This toothache was making it hard to focus on anything else!
When I called the Family Dentistry of Frisco dental office, the receptionist was patient with my questions as I explained what was happening. She asked me if I tried brushing or flossing the area around the tooth first (I did, but it didn’t help). Instead, my tooth kept sharply throbbing and the area around it was swollen, making it painful to even drink much less eat anything. To my relief, she sympathized and took my concerns seriously.
As a busy mom of two, I didn’t have a lot of time to waste because of pain but it was really hard to ignore. She mentioned that pain shouldn’t be ignored, anyway, and honestly, I couldn’t ignore it even if I wanted to. In the back of my mind, I was also a little worried about whether the treatment would hurt worse than the tooth. She assured me that I would be made as comfortable as possible since they offer sedation options and that left me feeling relieved.
I showed up at their office on time and Dr. Paresh Patel and his team couldn’t have been kinder or more efficient. I felt confident that they were well-skilled in what they were doing and were excited to help me feel better. In fact, they were doing everything they could to make me comfortable and I was finally going to get this tooth pain under control!
When I was in the chair, they emphasized never ignoring an abscess in the mouth like mine. They took good care of me, making sure I felt relaxed instead of anxious. The treatment wasn’t even painful and in fact, relieving those symptoms was much-needed relief. I’m so glad I called when I did because now my toothache is gone and my mouth feels normal again! I was glad I learned about recognizing a dental emergency so I can help my family get the necessary care they might need down the road.
